How the Holy Spirit Leads You
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.” (Romans 8:14 WEB)
How does the Holy Spirit lead us?
The word “led” in the Greek comes from “agó” which in this context means to “to impel through forces and influences affecting the mind”.
“For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13 WEB)
When the Holy Spirit leads you, He gives you a desire to head towards a direction, drawing you onto the correct path.
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15 WEB)
The Spirit leads you by the peace in your heart. When you feel something inwardly that makes you think, “I have a bad feeling about this. There is no peace,” it is often the Holy Spirit restraining you from going in a non-ideal way.
Through the Spirit, God speaks to us and helps us make good decisions. If you are a born-again believer, you are a child of God, and God leads you through His Spirit.
As you walk, He shows you which way to go. Believe that He is good, and His plans for you are good. When we choose not to follow God, it is because deep down we still think He does not have our best interests at heart—that we will lose out by obeying Him.
We often make mistakes and regret it when we go against the leading. When you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, you will gain much more overall!
